As I go through my day watching my children interact with one another and friends I can only think about how to protect them when I’m not around.  As parents we teach our children about Stranger Danger.  We teach them not to talk to strangers, instruct them not to allow people to touch  certain body parts, but we fail to talk to them about their own friends. 

Some of you may be wondering “why should I teach my child to protect themselves against their friends?”  It sounds a little funny, huh?  But, it’s very much reality these days.  Bullying is starting younger and younger.  Children start out with joking sayings, but it can get out of control.  Many parents do not know how to address the issue.  The problem comes with one parent not wanting to offend the other and then the child doesn’t know how to handle it and now it’s acceptable behavior.  Hopefully this blog will provide you with some ideas and signs to look for. 

I’m super excited to dive in and share my ideas and information with you.  My goal is to update the blog weekly.  You can expect at least one blog a week (hopefully more as time permits) as I will be dividing my time working with small groups of children, blogging and spending time with my own family.
